Question for Photographers - Book?

For Lemans or whoever is into photography. Are there any good books out there that detail techniques for photographing, specific equipment, stuff like that? Christmas present for the wife and I'm not savvy to such things. Donka

Something like that is probably used in every basic photography course out there, and will teach you the fundamentals. But, once you know the basics there's only so much that can be taught from a book //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The rest is looking at other people's work and interpreting the points of their style...books by Ansel Adams, Cartier-Bresson, and others would be good to look over.

Cool, thanks. I know piss all about it myself, hence the need to ask. The only problem is having to go to a bloody book store at Christmas season.

probably digital, unless sh e wants to be a PHOTOGRAPHER, which is much different than someone who wants a camera. every photographer has dabbled in film to learn how the camera works, and why it makes things look as they do.

Well I am a part time photographer. To be successful you need to have and understan how both work, and be 100% confident in how to use both formats. My love is film but not all clients want that. If you guys have any questions just let me know. Ive been doing this since I was 16 and have worked with some pretty weel know talent in my ara. Have my own studio at home and everything.
