Question about tweeters

Every speaker has different tweeters, obviousley. I have been wondering though what the differences between two are.

Alpines is listed as a silk dome tweeter. Pioneers a soft dome tweeter. I always thought the two were one in the same. you can see though that by looking at them that there are definately differences. The alpine tweeter is black and not shiny. The Pioneer tweeter is kind of clear and very glossy. I also noticed that the Pioneer tweeter seems to be a bit more harsh than the Alpine. Why is this?

A silk dome tweeter is a soft dome. But there are other materials that are also soft //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The material used may carry some traits ie. soft-smooth, hard-sharp. BUT design can overide either of those assumptions.
