Question about Tuning a box

If you can tune boxes to hit differently how come no one, or if they do I haven't seen them yet, has multiple tuned boxes? For example, why not tune one box for like 30hz and another for like 40hz? some people DO have boxes with multiple tunings... just not at the same time... usually using port plugs. (example- say 300sq in. tuned at 31-32 hz for daily, insert the port plug and have 275 sq in tuned at 40 hz for spl...)

The same reason you don't mix sub sizes or even different models of the same size. It becomes a jumbled mess of cancellation. If you want multiple drivers playing the same frequency you want them playing those frequencies the exact sameway.

Actually, that is not true. This enclosure has multiple tuning frequencies and I dont' need plugs to accomplish it:

It's tuned to about 30hz and 58hz. It doesn't sound too bad but really does not sound much different at all from a similarly specced ported enclosure tuned to 30hz. The response is a little smoother than the ported enclosure though.

You got that backwards. Plug for daily low tune, take out plug for more port area for SPL.
