assuming it has a 350, ported heads (or after market aluminum heads), and a cam on a rebuilt engine will get that van moving pretty good. you would want a at least a 2500 rpm stall torque converter... should be doable on the cheap too.
thats pretty vague to specifically need a 2500 stall. you have to have some idea of what kind of power you are putting down and if it's a drag, or street car. although 2500 stall is not very high

i said "at least". i would put a 2500 stall conv on any mildly modified engine. i think that you may have understood what i was saying but i did respond with very little info.
