whats up guys

earlier i burned a 25hz test tone to check my ssf setting. I kept the volume at about 12 out of 35 on my hu.

is it normal for a sub to move a lil bit playin a 25hz test tone with the ssf set on 50hz? cause this is what im experiencing.

the ssf on the amp goes from 20hz to 50hz.

any good tips for setting the ssf on a viper 1200.1?

The SSF isn't a brick wall...there's going to be a gradual tapering of attenuation as the frequency decreases.

I wouldn't be playing test tones @ 25Hz too loud when your box is tuned to 35Hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Unloading under tuning will not agree with your driver...at all. Be careful.

well it was really low and i never let it play with the ssf all the way off cause i was afraid of damaging the subs. no harm was done cause the subs were only moving a 1/16"th or 1/32".

i was just making sure it was normal for them to move just a little bit.

any good tips for setting this???

35*0.75 = 26 Hz

so i should be shooting for 26hz??

it sucks cause the amp doesent have any markings on the knob. its just 20hz-50hz.

Think of half way between the setting for 20 and 50 as 35. Halfway between 20 and 35 as 27.5, so go about 1/4" of the way to 50hz and you'll be fine. Since tuning is almost always lower than anticipated, you'll have no problems at all.

I don't mean to jack your thread, but is there such a thing as an inline SSF? I'm running 2 type-e 10s ported at 32hz and my amp does not have one.

yes there is. try crutchfield or ebay.

and from what i read its not safe to go ported without a ssf so be careful.

That's dependant on tuning and your subs. The higher it's tuned, the more you need one. The less your subs can handle being unloaded, the more you need one.
