Question about stereo & TV

Hey, when you have the stereo and TV on, how do you change the volume on the stereo?
You can't control them simultaneously unless you have a very expensive universal remote I think some of the advanced pads like Ipad can even do that. But as far as the rca outputs go on your tv they cannot be regulated in anyway. You have to alter it after the fact to control it. It's a frustrating thing but technology in a lot of tv's just isn't there to control that...

I KNOW! It pisses me off, I wanted to use my really nice 5.1 surround system on my tv in my new apartment, but i plugged it in, and it only plays at full blast, and the only passive, in-line volume knob i could find for a 3.5mm aux cord was like 30 dollars, which is not worth it to me.

You might be able to find a used eq with volume controller on it for about 50 and it would last you a long time... Check ebay out man lots to be had there. This has been a struggle of mine from day one. Try dealing with HD sound outputs from a tv and your audio equip has no HD inputs. lol Converters everywhere! haha
