just curious correct me if im wrong someone but how would two mags off 2k watts have less output than 2 BM's off 1000watts? i just dont get it? are the BMs that much more sensitive than the mags?

my mistake i missed the 2 mags sealed part vs 2 bms ported... just out of curiosity why not port the mags?

and if you go sealed i don't think youll notice much difference in output between 1800 and 3000watts, i know thats a broad statement but in a perfect world double the power is worth 3dbs, so 3000 watts vs 1800 your looking at between a 2.0 and a 2.5db difference, audible but not drastic

however i would bet money that 2 mags ported would be louder than 3 sealed, and you could keep your orion, and only have to buy 2 subs instead of 3(if they come in dual 4ohm that is) save you some money at least...

actually 4 of them would give you a perfect 1 ohm.... since they are all dual 2, wire each sub in series for a 4ohm load, and then the 4 subs in parrallel for a 1ohm load

4 mags off a sundown 3000 would be absolutely beastly and have very very good sq

kinda makes me think about doing it in my standard cab truck *evil laughter*

Also realize that everyone that has used and reviewed them has said that they simply don't need 1kW each. They can thermally handle it but the difference in output between 500 and 1000W isn't the normal 3 dB because those subs power compress a lot. Sticking with an amp that can do 2kW @ 1 ohm would be plenty for 3-4 of the Mags.
