Question about my FREE Stinger SP1700

Well, i'm bout to go pick up a stinger sp1700 for free. The reason it's free is because it's sitting at 6.5 volts, but has never had a charge on it, it's just been sitting with no current draw. My question is, how do i go about charging it to full voltage again? I've got a charger (tote) that will do a quick start charge, a normal charge, and a trickly charge (2 amps). Do i put it on the trickle charge for about a day/day and a half? Or do you guys recommend something else? I've heard that even tho it's sitting at 6.5 volts, dry cell batteries are made to go pretty much to 0 and be charged back up with very little to no problems..

well since its free theres no loss. that being said just put it on trickle charge for a day and then see what it sits at. then let it sit for couple hours and see if it still close to what it was when u took it off. if it goes back down to 6 then its a bad battery

Ok. This has been sittin in an audio shop for a while and they all think it's worthless since it's sitting so low, but it's never had urrent pulled throgh it, it's just sat on a rack.. hopefully it's good cuz that would help out my charging system a lot..

Ok.. If this thing actually does end up working and being a fine battery, i'm planningon hooking it in line with wet cell battery from O'Reillys (which has 930 CCA and 1100 CA) I would have it like this : Stinger 1700 -- Wet cell -- fuse -- amp. Should i put the stinger in front of the wet cell, only run the stinger (if there's room where the stock battery can fit), or would it be fine running behind the wet cell?

Edit: I've got a 1/0 wire running from the alternator to the second battery i've got now, it it would charge the stinger at the same rate as the "stock" Everstart 875 CCA battery, if i ran the stinger behind the wet cell.

Most home Chargers can't charge that well. It needs a deep charge. Go to your local battery shop.
How long would it take to charge a big dry cell like that? and that's not somehthing i'd leave with them. would an O'Reilys have a big charger, or something like Autozone?

I'm doubting it will do a deep charge but you can try.
Explain a deep charge. Would i set it on the 10 amp charge, or 2 amp charge? and for how long should i leave it on the batter? I'm gonna try this during the day cuz i don't want my shed to burn down if something goes wrong.
