Question about midbass..

Ok guys...Ive never really been into SQ, so Im not too familiar with midbass, components, etc. I currently have 6x9" up front, and 6.5" in the rear. Now, does a midbass driver replace the front speakers? Or are they an add on? Is a component set a tweeter plus a midbass driver? or does it contain a full range speaker? Im looking to upgrade my speakers and gain some sq, but need to know what Im doing first

I currently have clif designs speakers in my a-pillar. Would it be best to get some clif designs midbass drivers...or start over with a whole new set?

you can get a 2 way component set (midbass and tweeter)

or you can get a 3 way set (midbass, midrange, and tweeter)

Do most people go with the 2 ways or the 3 ways? I cant fit both the midrange and the midbass in the door....so could I run the midrange in the door, midbass in some kicks, and tweeters in the a pillar?

Or should I just go with a 2 way?

You could. But a better option would be midrange and tweet in kicks and midbass in door.

2-way vs 3-way is up to you. Each have their benefits and disadvantages.

Im going to have to run the tweeters in the a-pillars, because Ive already mounted them in the pillars. I dont want to take them out and have holes in them.

we cant tell you that, you have to do it your self.

Depends on some stuff. But you will most likely want to cross the tweets over pretty high.....like 6-7khz (which means you would need a midrange that can go that high).
