I currently have a Massive P1000.1 amp powering a 12" SI Mag D2.
Manual of the amp says:
440 W @ 2 ohm
880 W @ 1 ohm (Yeah, everywhere else it says 1000 @ 1 ohm, including the catalog that came with the amp)
So, I have the Mag wired to 1 ohm and I am happy.
Anyway, I plan of getting a second Mag sometime in the future And I am a little confused about getting a second Massive amp to use in a master/slave format.
Let's say I get a second P1000.1 and master/slave it to the other P1000.1. Then wire the two Mags to 2 ohms. Would the two P1000.1s be giving the two Mags 880Watts total? Seems like it's better to hook up one amp to one Mag, and the other amp to the other Mag but I have no idea how to connect two amps to my Alpine. (my alpine has two preouts, one for the front speakers, one for the sub. Probably why I choose not to get back speakers and an amp. No more preouts!!)
Yeah, I could always get a new amp to power both Mags, but I like to use what i have, and try not to get rid of stuff that works.
