Question about Kicker Re-Cone

Hey guys! What's up?

Alright, here is the deal. I know of someone that has a blow 12" L7. I dont know what year it is. It looks just like this one:

My questions are:

1) Anyone know how much it would cost to get this thing reconed?

2) If I get it reconed, will it end up being like the new 2005 ones or would it still be an older version?

3) How would 1 12" L7 compare to my current 12" CVR?

Oh if its anything near retail than f it...

I have just heard about recones from re and stuff for like $60 plus shipping...

Thought maybe I could end up with a working L7 for $100 or less...

I got two CVR15D2s I blew, at least two year models old. They're in new condition otherwise, had an 800.2 on them. I called Stillwater and they said it would be $175 each for the 'return and exchange for new ones' plus shipping on my part, and they can simply not be re coned because of the age. Got a killer box I'm trying to keep..

Question 1. Does anyone else do it, and if there are many what's the best deal?

Question 2. Is it worth my time and (at least) double the money to find L5s or L7s and a new box? Are they that much better?

Question 3. So scratch the Kicker idea, what else would be simply LOUDER round 15s in this ported box I got?
