Ok so when I first adjusted my gains and what not I used a multimeter and set the volume +1 above the level I listen to it on. The thing is I was always told its best to use a 40hz or 50 hz test tone. For example 44.72 volts at 2Ohms playing a 50hz test tone is suppose to be approximately 1k rms 46 volts is suppose to be like around 1.2k. After I first adjusted everything I played a few of the songs I listen to listening level in order to see how many volts it was drawing after I set the gain. None of my songs ever went over 20 volts. So instead I decided to just play my song that pulled the highest voltage and adjusted my gain until it drew 46 volts.
My question is why was the test tone voltage so much higher than the actual song voltage? And was it better to set it using actual songs?
I mean it sounds really good no clipping no distortion no bottoming out ect.
