Question about clamshells

Lately ive been goin around and trying to learn the theory that is behind the different enclosure designs, how they work, why they work, why certain things wont work, that kinda stuff. But the clamshell has me confused and I was wondering if anyone here had any knowledge to share, or links to anywhere i can read up on them.

i'm actually considering doing a clam shell box in the back of my s/10...........i got the topper the other day...............i'm thinking about 20 12's........i can pick them for roughly $24 a piece............i've checked a couple of them in my area.........doesn't seem too hard to build..........i've seen them made with each sub in there own space and three in the same space..........i'm not sure myself which is better.........

Pretty much the theory behind it is:

You can fit more subs on angled baffles than a single flat one.

I think he means clamshell as sub woofer face to face with a second woofer

Doing this you drop the vas by 1/2 so you can run say 2 15's in a box that’s 1.5cf vs. a single 15in that wanted 3cf and hit same freq

Clamshell is a nice way to go but you usually need allot more power cause 2 subs vs. 1 but the sound is usually very tight and accurate.

Clamshell in a bandpass design works great because you get a smaller box by 1/2 on the rear chamber which is big in this design and the sound is tight and accurate to the tuning freq.

So you can do some serious SQ setups with clamshell face to face if you know what you’re doing.
