Yeah, do check. Not sure those ever came in SVC configuration. So if it says 4 ohm, you may have it wired down to 1 ohm.
I'm actually going to go outside and mess with them and the wiring. I'll take a picture as well so you can see. Is my amp 2 ohm stable?Yeah, do check. Not sure those ever came in SVC configuration. So if it says 4 ohm, you may have it wired down to 1 ohm.
I have a standard car battery through Interstate. Also, I'll look into an AGM battery and doing the Big 3 upgrade.so, if both subs are wired like that, I believe your amp is then seeing a 4ohm load. What battery do you have under the hood? is it a stock style car battery? I know with the first system I put in my truck (was about 1,000w) I had some light dimming and changing my battery to an AGM style virtually eliminated any dimming issues I had. if it were me, I would start with changing to an AGM battery, plus doing the BIG 3 upgrade. then if you still have issues look in to getting an HO alt, when you can afford it.
It's a 1999 Chevy Lumina with a 3.1L engine and I believe the alternator is a 12V 105A and the alternator shops suggested me the 220A HO alternator which runs for $350 from PowerBastards. Also, I went to another audio shop and they told me the way it's wired is that it's wired down to 4 ohm load and if I do a 2 or 1, I'll notice clipping/cutting out of the amp. What kind of vehicle is it? What alternator size? The wiring diagram you messaged me with looks correct, coils are wired in series and I'm guessing subs are in parallel. Your amp should be seeing a 4 ohm load. Are the subs hitting pretty hard when the lights dim?
Yes when I have a song on with deep bass and the volume is at 26, that's when I notice the lights dim. It hasn't dimmed on a normal volume I keep it at (18-20).So does it hit really hard when lights dim? You can't wire those subs to 2 ohms. You can't run the amp at 1 ohm either, so you're stuck at 4 ohms. Answer my question though.
