Question about bridging

Not going to setup an amp like this but have been wondering about this for some time.

Say you have a passive component set that only needs two channels. You have a four channel amp that is bridgeable to 2 channels @ 4ohms. If you bridge the 4 channel to run the 2 channel passive component set, what happens to right and left orientation of the signal? Is it retained or lost?

left/right should still be retained because there is no signal summing going on. If you bridged the two lefts the output will still be left etc. it has no way of getting the right signal

oh ok, so that's how they are commonly bridged? You bridge the left channels and then bridge the right channels? ohhhhhh that makes sense now. Never owned a 4 channel.
