Question about Alpine's IMPRINT

I was thinking about getting one, but I was reading about it's particulars on Crutchfield and I noticed it says it must be used with a laptop computer? Problem is, I don't have a laptop. I have a desktop, can that be used?

I don't see why not. I think they say lap top for ease of use. Not everyone is going to want to move their desktop.
