hey guys, i have a question that i have little to none in experience with. we all know the common "which way does the sub sound better/louder" well. i have one of these, but this application is different. basically, which way would work best to point the subs in the back of a truck?

my friends neighbor has 2 P3's running off a hifi Zeus. i believe it is the large one. he made an enclosure out of 3/4 plywood sealed. yes plywood. not made to any specs, just made a box, fired them both forward under the back seat. the enclosure isn't doing justice. we pretty much made a deal and he asked me to help build a box to specs for the subs. in return he will weld and brace my trunk lid which is cracking horribly. tomorrow i will be swinging by in the afternoon to overlook what dimensions i can work with.

my thought on this will be to continue running them forward with the port forward in the center. i want to go with a shared port. i looked up the sub on the RF site and it's recommending 1.79cu per sub with a tunning of 40hz. I'm thinking of sticking with the recommended air space but dropping the tunning down to 34-35hz.

so pretty much it's which way would work best to fire the subs?

and would sticking with the recommended air space with the subs tuned a little lower be ok or should o go bigger box with it tuned around where i wanted it?

i did search but came up with few answers to my question.

i can't tell you what exactly the truck is. i belive it's an older ford 150 though.

kinda like his one

not going with a blow-thru. lol, i'm not going to cut up the mans car.

would it be better to point the subs back and port forward for reflective bass?

or should i go crx style and sub up port back?

That sucks an option could be to raise the seat I have not seen that trucks seat frame but I had a silverado and just made some brakets but I would not do that since its not yours. I guess port and subs forward And I would leave the tunning high

If I remember with those trucks it is almost impossible to get boxes under that rear seat. If it is really like the one in that picture then you are going to have a hell of a time making a box...but who knows, those trucks have like 20 different extended cab, quad cab, standard, etc that it could be different.

Good luck, I would say just go with what will fit in the space provided as long as the enclosure is to specs.
