question about A/T tire sizes

i never really understood how to read the sizes...like i understand normal tires, for instance on my truck it has 235/75/15

then im looking at a 30" a/t tire that is 30 x 9.50 x 15

how much bigger is that gonna be than the tires i have on there now? where does the 9.50 number come from, just how wide it is?

easy, 30" tall x 9.5" wide , fit 15" wheel

235 mm (9.251969 in) across thread, is what you have now so 30x9.50 will be .25 in wider

how about a 31x10.50R15 (compared to the 235 75 15

im looking on the site and their 30x9.50x15 is 29.5" overall diameter, and the 31" i just listed is 30.5" tall.

the 235/75/15 is 28.9"
