Question about 12W6v2....

Ok, guys i just got my perfect 12W6v2, problem is i am at school so i haven't had the chance to build my box for it. I put it in a box i had down here at school, but the box is a tad small, 0.9 cuft, and leaks like the Titanic. Sub doesn't sound bad now, but you can definitely feel air coming out around the mounting face, and the plugged port hole.

So on to the question, you know the reason why you clicked on this, will running it in this horrid box hurt the sub? should i just pull it out until i build my box?

Also, more importantly, how much of an improvement am i going to see by putting it in an air tight, 1.25-1.3cuft enclosure. Its being powered by a JL audio 500/1.

Thanks,

Colin

It wont hurt it at low levels but start cranking it and you might over excursion it. Or blow the box up. I had 2 12w6v2's with an 1100w Zapco and they were sick. I also had them in the JL box. Just have one of your boys in shop class buld you a box:D

You should be ok at low levels as he said just dont go crank it. I had a box to jl specs sealed and had 2 of them and loved them. They took some power to much more then rated. I have had a total of 4 of them and dont have anything bad to say about them at all.
