question about 1 ohm wiring a autotek 1400.1d

you cannot wire 2 dvc 2 ohm subs to 1 ohm.......or 4 ohms for that matter..you can only do 0.5 ohms, 2 ohms or 8 ohms and the newer autoteks do NOT like running below rated impedence.....so you either run it at 2 ohms or buy a different amp or different subs

well in the kicker manual it says i can wire them 1 ohm

gosh ......i'd hate to say it but if it says that in the manual....it's still wrong. You can wire 2 dvc 4 ohm subs to 1 or 4 ohm. You can wire 2 dvc 1 ohm subs to 4 or 1 ohm..........but no way possible can you wire 2 dvc 2 ohm subs to 4 or 1 ohms.

as long as he doesnt wire them together....he can have each on 1 ohm
are you dense.....that would be a 1/2 ohm load on his amp. He needs to wire each sub to 4 ohms then connect one sub to each set of terminals..that would be 2 ohm load. Its a mono amp BTW

dude i know....maybe this will help you trust me. That is MY trunk and that is an Autotek 1400.1 and a 100.4...I KNOW what i'm telling you.

the amp is internally bridged....so if you wire each sub to 1 ohm..the load equals 1/2 ohm if you wire each sub to 4 ohms ... the load equals 2 ohms

damm man nice setup... so i would have to wire them up 2 ohm... will it still bump hard....

so if i have my subs hooked up 4 ohm already right now.. if i hooked each speaker to a speaker terminal on amp then it would split them down to 2 ohm????

well....you are only gonna see 500 watts max per sub but they are rated for 750 each but can really take 1000 or so. So my opinion is get an amp that is rated around 2000 watts@2 ohms or an amp that can make 2000@1/2 daily and you'll be better off over the Autotek
