quest for 24 volts

i need a wiring diagram of how i can charge 2 12 volts battteries that are wired to produce 24 volts i can put 24 volts to my amp, says the guy that i bought my equipment from said he even called ma audio on it and my amps warrantied so i dont care, any way i have a comp may 14 thats the 1st one its not sancioned just spl contest i need to get this figured out by then i want to run 24 volts then id be hard to beat with all the power. this was my major problem last year, i couldnt keep my volts over 10 even with a 180 amp alt and a 10 farad cap. so any ways how do i wire power to charge basically one 24 volt battery with out toasting my cars system? it can be done but how?? i need to know.

i was thinking with a power relay and diodes but i dont know how, any help?

charge them as a pair of 12v batteries, then re wire them for 24v, dont be surprised if your amp fries though...

that wont work because wired that way the volts wil drop because of the sub and the amp working, drawing power this wont work i need to figure out how to charge a 24 volt battery.

When you wire your Batts in Series, it doubles the Voltage...

How do you think Lowriders with Hydrualics wire and charge them.... Some of them are running at 36 and 48+ Volts...

i can get any amout of power divisable by 12 in my car thats obvious and easy charging the batter on a cars 12volt system is the hard part. a 12 volt battery is usualy 6 2 volt cells. but if the cars charging system will only charge 12 volts how and what do i need to make it charge 24.

a 1:2 step up transformer will give you 24 volts.

yep and with 2 12 volt batteries ill just wire it backin parallel.

no sh^t thats why i need to figre out how to wire it so i dont fry every thing in the normal 12 volt system i know i can diode things off so the 24 vots wont go back into the cars system and wreck any thing. it can work but in not literate enough to figure it out. i think with some diodes and a relay i can make it work.

good thing i have a warranty on my amp, ma audio says it will work the owner of the audio shop called them the only reason the specs of the amp say 17.4 or some thing like that is becasue of the rules in sanctioned events.

You'd need a step up/down transformer.

I'd highly suggest against this, as it doesn't seem like you have a real grip on it and it could do more damage than just the amp...

not yet i dont have a grip on it but ill get it figured out. power is very very very important in spl comps i ****** it up even with all my equipment last year because my amps so power thirsty and i dont like d class amps they heat up voice coils too much with my expierence any way so i got a big a$$ high current maaudio amp 4400 rms baby.
