there are different quality in speakers and all sound different but really placement is the key to making it sound good. Alpine has a set that you can add a midbass kit to it. It is the type x line but the cdt will probably be your best bet if you are planning on buying some

Yeah, they are. Pretty much made out of 1/8" abs

I had a set in my 1989 Civic LX. At a minimum, you should make a wood ring to mount the speaker to and affix it inside the Q-Forms. I also lined them with Dynamat, and you could possibly coat the insides with fiberglass.

One neat custom touch is port your mid bass in your doors....you can use the stock tweeter location for the port vent to the cabin....Run a 3 way set as recomended on previous post...Then some 6.5's vented in the doors...and 4" and Tweeters in the kicks...It will sound awesome if set and aimed properly...I use lasers for aiming the mids and highs....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

have you taken that door panel off yet? in my 96 TA it looked just like that but when i actually took the panel off the speaker was just mounted to the door not pointing up. that grill was just for looks. that might of changed after the 99 but just thought id mention it.

yea i took a look at that the other day, i had them off before because i threw some jvcs in the door because one of my stockers was broken, and they do just mount to the door, but it still seems get the sound where it need be...
