ah so

Area of a circle = Pi*(D/2)^2

Area = Pi*(3/2)^2

Area = Pi*1.5^2

Area = Pi*2.25

Area = 7.065 square inches

so therefore h*w=7.065 on a square port.. so you would prolly round down to 7..

7.5in^2 is closer to 40Hz, but i doubt you'll be able to hear a diff, and it will be easier to build, comes out to even numbers.

so then the port could be roughly 3 x 2.3''? by the way, i dont have to change the cubic ft of box right cuz of the .75 mdf im using to make the port..correct?

i could, but i didnt know how thick the pvc pipe should be? or does it only come in one size

pvc pipe is usually one thickness. and using .75" mdf for the port walls will takeu up volume inside the box effectively raising tuning freq.

p.s. i think he was shaking his head in disbelief in how hard you are making this.

ok, cool i thought there was like different thickness of pvc like .5 ...1'' etc...

i just happen to have some pvc left from my old sub box

most of it is .125" thick
