"Back in 1993 he took a Mazda B2300 xtra cab truck to a third place finish in his first competition. What really amazed a lot of people was the products in the vehicle. When everyone was using Rockford Fosgates, Soundstreams, Precision Power. He did it using Pyramid products. A pair of Pyramid PB600 amplifiers were used with 12" JBL subwoofers and Clarion components."
Sweet, sounds like you might have found a diamond in the rough. If it's working for you go for it.
"When I was about 15 I bought my first real (what I thought was real) amp. It was a Pyramid pb600, a 75x4@4 amp. That thing was abused from day one. It sat on the steel floorboard of my datsun truck getting banged around constantly. It was almost always run in bridged mode, usually with the gains way up. I would over-heat it, get it wet - every kind of abuse you could imagine.
After a few years of that abuse I put it in my parents boat where it got more wet - set outside in the elements all winter long - utterly tortured. I used it for 3 years there, then transplanted it into the boat I have now. It still works like a champ. It's over-rated as far as power, but does fine powering a couple sets of coaxials. That thing has been through hell and back and it still works like it did day one."
