Size=12 inch
Coils=dual 2.5" 4ohm
RMS=250
Xmax (one way)=11mm
Enclosure requirements= Large sealed (1.5 to 2.5) for reasonable Qtc.
Msrp=90 bucks
I sold these at my old job and install them at my new job.
Sound quality-
Not too bad if in the right box, these things require insanly large sealed boxes for proper SQ (2 cft), but in the right box they will sound like any good 250 watt woofer.
The hard part is to find a woofer that doesn't have a fatal flaw from the factory, tinsel lead slap is horribly loud and foam tape needs to be applied on the back of the cone to fix it. See build quality.
Build quaility-
The good-
The cone, surround and spider assembly are actually pretty well built, i have not seen a suspention failure yet, the terminals are the nice push type that work well, tinsel leads are beefy and well soldered. The magnet is a heavy double stack that is very attractive.
The bad-
Coil centering differs from woofer to woofer, some sitting deeper in the gap then others.
The voice coil impedance varys from 4 to 6 ohms at rest from woofer to woofer.
The cheap stamped steel basket is not solid enough to hold the heavy magnet assembly and allows for the magnet to be wiggled by hand, it will also rattle when the woofer is pushed hard.
The tinsel leads slap loudly against the cone, can be fixed with foam tape.
The oversized magnet makes the mounting depth inconvenient (6.25").
Conclusion-
If they improved the build quality of these woofers they wouldn't be so bad, but thats not going to happen so I reccomend them as a fancy paper weight.
