Ok so for 2 of these 12's, win isd recommends a 7.9 cube box vented, the cyan line. If i shrink it down to the green line, or even smaller, do i just lose the spl depicted by my crappy drawing of an arrow, the area inbetween the two lines? Or is there other negative effects from doing this?

it seems to lower group delay which is a good thing right?

Yes, lower group delay is a good thing. You also gain higher mechanical power handling with a smaller box, but as you can see, you lose the low end output that you're doing a ported box for in the first place. Although, with a box tuned to 25hz, you're not going to be missing much....I actually like the smaller box graph the more that I look at it.

The box becomes less efficient, so if you're limited on power then that's a bad thing but if you have plenty it'll be okay. As mentioned it does raise mechanical power handling as well.
