Pushing Air?

If you have 2 setups of 4 12" subs, they both have the same cone area equaling the same amount of air being pushed.

HOWEVER if one setup has 3k RMS and the other has 8k RMS, how much harder does 8k push air than the 3k?

If you can't do a hair trick on 3k, if you gave the same setup 8k, could you?

its not always more power more air, couse you maight be pushing already the limits of a woofer, but in this case 4 subs on 3k vs 8k i think you will notice a diffrence, if you want to move more air think about the tunning of your box, normally lower tunning gets you the air movement

i had an orion 2500d on a single 18" NSV2 and did not move that much air, but now it does with a vfl 500.1 same box and sub

Going from 3k to 8k would be a 4.2db increase (on paper). Many variables involved - but as robb mentioned - if the woofers were not already at there limit - it would be a pretty noticeable difference in output.

If u need 4 12s and 8k to move air ..you.re doing it wrong lol.....exibit a- my hdc4 video ..and thats from a **** trunk
