He didn't want to go over $500 for sub and amp, I think that pretty much takes out the W7.

tell your friend to rethink getting 2 subs...

remind him that it is nice to have trunk space and that one JL 10W7 mated to a nice 500 watt amp will do just fine in the SQ department.

why not two type r's off ebay and jbl 600.1 that's under 500 bucks... sounds like sq to me, not sure about the quality of the amp though but hey who am I to downplay "JBL"

as far as i've heard, JBL is nowhere's close to pure SQ. oh, and this will be going in a truck for the time being, so space is limited, that's why i was thinking to go with 1, like a single eclipse alum.

hector once you stay in these forums for a long time, you will find that JL is way way way too overpriced and that many people wont reccomend them. they have good SQ, but for about half the price you can get a brahma or something that is louder and has SQ that is almost the same...maybe a lil less

W7 is louder than a Brahma (1000W+).

my friend and i were gonna buy a brahama to see how it sounds b/c we heard soo much about them and how they were better than w7's....... so, are they louder or not?

in a lot of other threads we established that W7 has better SQ but that the brahma is a lil bit louder...i bet that it is reallly close

I dunno about that either...both have amazing potential...In my opinion the Brahma sounds just as good as, if not better than the W7.

well i guess my friend and i are gonna just have to buy one to see for ourselves.....

were gonna buy it build a box for it then if we don't like it sell it on ebay a few days later..

he hasn't heard of brahama and he thinks jl is the best in the world.... after being on here and talkin w/people for a few months you've all convinced me that brahama's are the shyt so we're gonna get it and find out...... after that idmax is next b/c people say those are the shyt then finally elemental k series (12) will be our final sub to get..... we still haven't decided on if were gonna get a blueprint driver or not.

Naw...I've heard 2 awesome W7 installs, and the Brahma, in a box that was a cube smaller and a 10 held its own...
