Punch 800a2?

I just know a lot of OS amps can be wired ridiculously low, wondering if this is one of them. Probably just run 1 sub to each channel and call it a day.

It is actually late 90's to early 2000's. The "a" series was an older version and not as desirable as the original "." version. All though it is more desirable then the "II" version.

As for what to run it at. I wouldn't run it lower then 4 ohm nominal.

Thanks for the input. I believe I bought it in '98, but its been a while.

best buy? we sold them, some did close to 1k at 4
Maybe the power series. I have tested around 30-40 different RF "a" series amps and never seen one do close to that much over rated.

I have seen a good solid 800rms and moderate voltage and even some get close or just over 900rms with a 14 volt setup.

If I remember, the birth sheet rated it at 986 or 987 RMS, I bought it online, before online buying became cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

it's a standard solid high power(voltage) amp. the ones that you saw being run down in the 1/4-1/8 ohm load, are known as "high current(hc)" amps. these amps have mehsa boards, meaning all the fets on one side are actually soldered down to aluminum plates, making it a real pain to repair. there is also a difference in the power and punch amps, other than the name. they look identical until you actually test them, iirc. the 800.2 IS a 800a2. same exact amp, with new case and fancy "2400watt" badge. there was also the 801s run with the 800.1, which was the same, but the torroid was wrapped a little different
