pulsating sub

Hey im new to this site, I have installed at least 10 sound systems (head unit, speakers, and subs) in cars for friends and family. But i recently took a system out of my old car and tried installing it in the camaro i just got its a 92. I have dealt with the wining in other peoples systems and fixed it but my system is doing something i have not previously dealt with and i cannot figure out the problem. Every time i turn the radio on i get a pulsing thump not just when i first turn it on but the entire time its on and it speeds up and slows down depending on the volume of the radio. I have tried it with 3 different amps and 3 different sub setups also 3 different sets of wiring in different spots in the car but i still get the same thing every time. I know all of the equiptment works because its all stuff i was previously using in a different car. the only thing thats different is the head unit which came with the car but that is new so i dont see how that could be the problem. it also sometimes makes a weird almost like a squeeling noise similar to the sound a record makes when you move the needle on it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

check all your grounds. chances are the problem is a bad/loose ground on the amp/amps.
ive completely disconnected the entire system (minus the head unit) and rewired it 3 times in 3 different locations still does the same thing.

I had a similiar problem in my camaro, it's a 91. I ended up using the ground under the rear plastics for the hatch pull down motor. I just sanded the paint down and used a good ring terminal. Haven't had a hum in over a year now.

i actually originally had it grounded there but i didnt sand it down first. ill have to try that

did you have the same thumping sound too? or just the weird noise?

It was a nasty low frequency hum that changed volume with the radio. As soon as I turned it on I knew what it was. I originally had it grounded to where the strap for the T-Top bag goes. Changed to the factory ground for the motor and it's been quiet ever since. If it helps I run a kenwood deck, but try the ground before condemning your head unit.

i tried running them on opposite sides of the car it didnt help
Make sure they are not too close to the power wire near the amp. I ran my RCA's and power seperatly as well, but I ended up having the RCA's too close to the power near the amp (extra wire too close) and that did it. Took forever to figure out.

thanks Kiliam i sanded down the hatch motor ground like you said and used a slightly larger gauge wire and its working perfectly now

thanks for all the help guys ill definately be using these forums frequently
