I recently returned an amplifier to amazon, and they tried to charge me a whopping $46 restocking fee for a faulty product. Previously, a cs agent from amazon told me that all auto parts are covered under a 1 yr clause that requires amazon to issue a full refund (no restocking fee, no shipping charge). I found this to be a great thing, and decided to continue purchasing misc auto parts, trim, and even an amplifier from amazon.
So fast forward to today, and I call them asking about why I was refunded significantly less money, and they said it was a restocking fee. Immediately I told them I would not accept that, the item was defective. I was told to wait they needed approval, then it hit me, the 1 yr auto warranty. I mentioned this, and she did some research and came back to tell me I was 100% correct and she apologized for the PITA this ordeal became and refunded me the difference.
TL;DR amazon has a 1 year warranty on all defective automotive products including car audio accessories. Unfortunately, it seems they won't mention the clause or abide by it unless you mention it.
