Ps3 worth waiting for?

You prob dont need to save up much anyways... just put a $50 deposit down.... you can always get it back if you realize down the road (closer to the release date) you don't want it.

That's what I did with the 360....but I was broke, it wasn't that I didnt't want it.

yeah i got my 360 on launch day. one of the few lucky ones. best buy had no interest til january 2008 so i decided to get one and put it on my bb card.

i've seen the specs of the ps3 and it looks like it will outdo the 360 by a longshot. plus backwards compatibility all the way down to the first gen. 6 controllers via bluetooth/wireless is a biggie.

i'm thinkin bout puttin down for one tho. sell off my ps2/original playstation. plus 3 different colors. black, grey, white. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Spec wise is what i'm mainly talking about, but not to mention sony IMO has a much better 3 rd party lineup and will not only produce better games but (again) imo many more of them:) .. Both 3 rd gen systems have alot of work to do still, other than a few 360 games, the graphics to me look like a very good HD xbox game

Plus the fact that the PS3 will have FREE online gaming that has the potential to surpass the quality of the XBox Live (which has a monthly fee) service is another goodie.

I don't think its really necessary to pre-order for the PS3. Sony is expected to produce 1 mil. units per month starting soon so even if they were sold out maybe the first couple weeks, you wouldn't have to wait much longer to get your hands on one of the next shipments.

PS 3 is leaps and bounds ahead of the 360, and will have better games.

The games won't use the full capability for a while though, so decide if it's worth it.

One thing I've heard, and I'm not sure the truth behind it, is that when Vista comes out, you'll be able to compete with 360 users on xbox live using PC versions of the games. I think that is pretty cool, and will prove to push the development of better games on the 360 side.

Lets hope Sony pays attention to their previous problems. A lot of the Ps2's drives were crap. It looks like it could be miles ahead of the 360 and you will pay for it too. Lets also hope the games produced can fully take advantage of the Ps3's resources.

I'll still get a 360 soon for oblivion...

actually, i have heard that as well. gaming h2h on the 360 and pc. but that free online gaming for the ps3 will definately be awesome. the 360 live is like $70 for a 12 month subscription.

as for the ps2s, yes there was a "bad batch" but they did fix it a while later. i just happened to buy one on ebay and then had to buy a used one from a store. should've waited for a slimline. lol.

i'm waiting to play ffXI online but it'll be a few weeks but i have it. just no xbox live, and our wireless network is effed up.

also the 360s were reporting problems with the power sources and freezing up as well right after launch..but that's expected for new things. bugs/flaws at first, they fix them, release a new wave of them.

PS3 will have 1 million release world wide every month, not just in the US. so if you want one i would suggest being first on pre-order list.
