when i was in my local car audio shop i enquired about an inverter for my PS2 they tried to sell me a custom inverter which was tiny and had the PS2 lead attached so u didn't have a chunky plug. the only problem was the price £70 abt $140.

just wondering if you guys know anywhere better by the way i have the slim line PS2 or if not a small inverter which is just good enough to power it

cheers

i have no problem with messing around with audio equipment but when it comes 2 electrics im a little more hesitant. And this may be a dumb question but where would I hard wire it into?

You can run a wire straight from the battery to the inverter. All the inverter needs is an 12 volt current into it. Use like a 8 or 10 awg wire for it. Then you'll also ground the inverter into any part of bare metal of your car.

Only thing I would be concern about is a switch to turn on or off the inverter. An inverter that draws a little bit of current on a car that won't be driven for days might pose problems. Try to find an inverter that has an on and off button.

Otherwise a high current relay will allow you to have the inverter to turn on and off with the car.

this is my problem i have got that many wires coming from my battery sooner or later something is going 2 burn. im going 2 give that inverter ago as its only a few quid. just have 2 wait a good few days as its coming from HK.

Whether you tap into the battery or inside your car, they all come from the battery. You will not burn anything as long as you fuse it. If you want minimize connections to your battery, use fused distribution blocks. Trust me, I've wired as many as 10 units to a battery with no problems at all. It's the total amperage and poor installation I'd worry about before anything else.
