what is this? please feel free to correct my spelling. i've seen these brought up in this section many times, and have just found out that the physics department at my school has a ton of these. i think i might just "borrow" one. we also have these machines that put out an electronic signal at the hertz you ask it too, thinking about hooking one of this up to my system just for fun.

i'm just not sure on how to. that bcae.com page just informs about the features of an o-scope, but not how to use one to set the gains on an amp. why is it any better than a regular volt meter?

Becuase you can actually see the wave. That link tells you how to use one.

You can do so, *so* much more with an o-scope than a DMM.

You'll always understand the concept of clipping once you see it, in person, and are able to control the waveform.

yea i'm think i'm just going to stick with the good 'ol voltmeter. speaking of, i'm adjusting my friend's gains tomorrow. he has an audiobahn a8002t: its a two channel, and stable at 4 ohms bridged (800 rms). i understand the whole Sqrt(Power*Resistance) = Voltage equation. but JL audio says you divide the voltage in halt on their two channel amps when bridged. could you guys help me out with wat the voltage is supposed to me. i'm really out of it right now. thanks.
