PRS 880 manual *****...

I keep trying to get a job as a technical writer.

You should see the piece of **** that came with my Metra kit for the Scion. The diagrams were a friggin optical illusion - seriously!

Maybe I'm just tired, but man it could be a little easier to follow. For starters I can't access thge internal amp switching....how do I get there?
With the unit turned off, hold in the right knob for a few seconds, and it should bring you to some options. You should be able to choose from there.

Thanks.....That's what I'm talking about....in no way does the manual state the unit must be off to access that parameter.

OK this deck has alot going on compared to the old school Alpine I'm used to. Part way through sound deadening and install, and tested the rears off HU as the rear doors are done. Why only high frequencies getting back there?

Not sure about your second question, but a little hint on the manual...

It assumes you're following things in order from start to finish, rather than just as a reference. In many cases if you just go to a section for something you want to do, the description will not include something about how you got to that point.

So, either go through it from front to back setting everything the way you like and learning it all...Or if you just want to use it as a reference and menus don't line up like it states or something, go back a bit from the specific piece you looked up and see what was done just before that.

sweet, ive been wantng to turn the internal amp off for weeks, but am happy with the way it sounds anyway and havent botherd to scan the manual. i had no idea i could accsess diffferent paramiters like that? thanks for knowing

Thanks for that. I have to admit by the time I finished the rear doors and tested them I was a bit tired to be reading the manual. I will take more time to read it before I do any more with it. To bad it wasn't more like my home H/K manual, it takes you through the menues in every section. As for the highs, I think it's because I had it in network mode....will test that out later.

i finally got used to my 880. i ended up reading the entire manual anyways. The olny thing i dislike about the deck is the volume doesnt go down fast enough. I dont always have my reote handy and sometime i would like to turn it down faster than that.
I have found that volume thing with about all the newer decks in the last couple of years.

Mute - on my steering wheel controls and on the remote that comes with it, and buried in the menus a bit on the unit itself.

Pause - pgm button on remote and buried in the menus a bit on the unit itself.
