Pros an Coms

tweeters have a built in cap/xover. Mids I use an FMOD for the LPF and HPF on the HU to create the passband needed...
Whoa....That flew rite over me. From my understanding Passive simply uses a crossover board to filter frequencies. Active I'd be hooking the tweets into chan1-2 an mids into chan3-4, set gains properly, then adjusting my CO point by using the filters on amp? I'd have a avh-x4600bt by this time. Is it active capable an what does tht mean?

I have a 97 Expedition being worked on rite now. An Iv been putting a system together on paper, pricing, comparing, an trying to get what I feel is a solid system. Lately Iv been looking at Pro Audio vs Components, I believe I want 2sets (front an back). It's a family ride an we'l do a lot of movie watching an I "park an play" for our Football team at practice/games during breaks/half-time. So I'm looking to be loud almost competition loud. I'm sure 2comp sets will do but....Pros. I mean, why not be louder rite?
I'm looking at CDT HD's for components or Crescendo PWX for Pro's (Carbon Fiber Look) is there any comparison between these speakers? I hope to pair them with 2 HDS312's on Q2200D.
Iv'e been running pwx's for a year now and they get plenty loud.Sound good doing it also.I went through ''alot'' of mids to find the sound i wanted.Cdt's were ok but these Pwx's have taken everything i have thrown at them and never complain.Crossed at 90 on hu.All the suggestions that these guys have put out there are good choices as well and they know their stuff.Good luck with whatever you go with.

If you amp will let you set a LPF around 3500Hz then that would work...
