I kno alot of you think im really dumb cause of all the stupid questions i ask. well heres proof.

I put my speakers in today got everything hooked up but when i turned it on and played music it sounded shittyer than my blown out stock speakers. Also only the right speaker played. I tested all the connestions on the amp and i realized that the left channel wasnt working so i got really pissed at the guy who sold it to me. Then my bro comes out and looks at it and i only hooked one rca plug to the hu. It works perfect now. Im a ****ing dumbass:waycrazy:

I have done something similar, except it wasnt my fault, the rca's I bought were faulty, one side was good, the other wasnt. I didn't notice that there was a problem for like 3 weeks, being that I have a banpass, until I unhooked one RCA, and there was no music. So I tested the rca before I went about taking everything out again.

Yah, once this ******* shows up to the audio shop I hang around sometimes. He was in a FIT, red in the face. "My ****ing subs don't work that you assholes sold me, I'm gonna ****ing kill your mom etc." So they distracted him in the office. They sold him a box, subs and an amp, with wiring, cause he thought he was a hotshot and could install it himself.

Basically, it worked for awhile because he crammed the frayed cable into the + terminal sloppy enough to touch the REM input. It worked unil the loose amp slid around and bent just so so the cable no longer touched the REM.

Needless to say, we ran an REM wire, and sent him on home to his mommy. He was sooo embarassed. Then they told me to get the **** out of their shop.

Thats kinda funny man, it made me laugh out loud.

Eh, just remember next time to double check all your wiring. I guarantee basically everyone on here has done something just as stupid, maybe they won't admit it, but I bet they have.
I'm guilty of something just as boneheaded ~ not proud of it but not ashamed to admit it either.

When I first bought the eXcelon monoblock I run currently it was just going to be a direct swap for the US acoustics 4 channel I had been using as 2 channel mono bridged. Weell....I disconnected the main power at the battery (as no one likes the results after creating a bright blue spark show letting an energized hot wire slip from your grip) to change 'em out. I had to do some swapping around of wiring as the remote activation input on the eXcelon is opposite from the US acoustics it was replacing. I got all that sorted out, got the necessary wiring hidden back where it belonged, every connection is tight and secure - no loose strands trying to escape etc etc etc......when I turned on the head unit so I can set the gain on the new (to me) amp nothing but the head unit turned on.

So I dig out the DMM to check the remote out on my deck to see if it had gone bad - nope...showing 12v there.

Check a couple of other things.

Nope - that wasn't it either.

. o O (Why don't I have power to the amps or to the relay that does remote activation duty?!?)

Walk back to the front of the car and see the main power cable hanging limply over the side of the battery ~ connected to......nothing.

I felt pretty freggin n00bx that afternoon.

Heh thought my HU was broke one time, after throwing a hissy fit and checking all the wiring and fuses, i finally found out that there wasnt a cd in in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

We all make stupid mistakes.

And FYI, this forum is full of idiots and I don't think there's any one person on here who can "take the cake."
