2 layers of 5 % would be .25% each layer lets through 5%. 5% of 5 is .25 ( 5 x .05)

and last time i checked .25 was less than 5 so that would mean less light.

so where did you get the idea adding more tint lets in MORE light:wow:

take any tinted filter

the more layers you add the darker it gets, even if the tint is not strong, the layers will add up

so yes 2X of 5% will be letting it 5% of 5% already

So in theory I think it will be .25% transparency but in tint terms it will be referred to as 2.5%

As the tint #'s indicated a severity by doubling or dividing by 2.

IE why tint is usually

40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 5, 2

Dude, nice effing work on the Subie. Can't wait to see her resurrected.

For those who care, I was the previous owner of this particular '05 GT. My roommate was kind enough one evening to cram it up the *** of a Land Cruiser at 35 mph (he was borrowing it at the time) resulting in a hospital stay for him and a busted car for me.

My '09 WRX is pretty good therapy to help get over the loss, but it would be absolutely awesome to see my old car back on the road. Good luck and keep us updated!
