projector headlights

Just installed some projector headlights in my 01 jetta... problem is that they came with H1 high and low beams and I would like to go brighter but I don't know what bulbs to get. Any recommendations?

go with some autoloc hid's i have 8k's in my jeep with projectors and they are awesome. they cost me 150$

false the brightest you can get and closest to natural light is 4300k

but buy any H1 bulb in any temp range you want

biggest thing is to watch your wattage if you do get HID's.... lower wattage bulbs (ebay specials) wont be bright at all... and make sure you run an inline relay for them, unless you want your car to blink constantly at oncoming traffic

Don't put an HID kit in your projectors, it'll look like crap. Instead, get a Mini H1 Retrofit kit.

Uhm.... The only reason you would put HID in your stock housing (the reflectors) is if you wanted to blind all oncoming traffic

Perhaps you misread my post, I said not to put them in HIS projectors. There are two different types of projectors, Halogen and HID. His are Halogen. With an HID kit in a projector designed for Halogen, it will look almost as bad, or even worse than reflector HID's. Only a projector designed for HID will look good, and produce the results that luxury cars achieve.

I told him to get a Mini H1 retrofit kit. There was no mention of putting it in reflectors.

8000k is way too blue. 4300k is the only acceptable temperature. And the only acceptable way of adding HIDs is by retrofitting actual HID projectors. The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications

Maybe you should look on TRS and find the Mini H1 projectors.

Oh, and I have a retrofit. So I think I know what I'm talking about.
