So my grandpa is getting pretty old, and he has been working with wood for over 40 some odd years, and has his own shop with tons of tools and such. I thought it would be cool to build something with him as kind of bonding experience but also as a chance to maybe make my system sound better. You can take a look at my current set up in my sig and i have pics in my gallery. Anyways, i'm not sure as to what i can make though, my box is tuned to 34 HZ 3.6 cubes of airspace,(1.8 cubes of airspace a piece....that's after port displacement and after sub displacement) tuned to 34 hz. It has a 3" wide port with 43.5 sq. inches of port area. External dimensions are 33.25" wide, 16" high and 18" deep. Double Baffle. Could i build a better box for my subs? or could i build an amp rack? Any suggestions anyone? I really want to build something with him, just dont know what.

let me has some money then, nah im just kidding well are you trying to show off your amps and what not? I dont really know much about box building but i think it sounds good but if you are planning on showing off your amps you can make a good quality amp rack

If he's an experienced craftsman with the right tools you guys should easily be able to make some awesome stuff. You could try having your amp flush mounted on the top of your sub box. I think it would definatley look good. Heres sort of what I'm talking about

Are you talking about building the box? Just use the formulas found on Jl's website or any of the others floating around. If you still can't figure it out I'm sure somone would be willing to help. I'm sorry but it's late and I don't feel like doing voluntary math.

Just use your creativity and make some cool shit up I'm sure he'd have some good ideas

Depends on the application really. If there is enough space I don't see a problem with doing it.
