Well, the amp situation is pretty interesting.

This is the email i got back:

Your amp has a lot of damage. Both power supplies and all 4 sections of the output channel are blown. This will involve replacing most or all the FETs, as well as rebuilding the drive sections. This repair will cost $315 and take about 1 week to complete. You get a 90 day parts and labor warranty. We pay return shipping.

Would you like us to proceed with the repairs? Please call us or reply to this message. Thanks,

There is NO WAY that i could have done this by simply running power to the amp (all settings as low as possible, no speakers hooked up)

So, nonetheless, im getting it fixed. However, the guy that sold it to me is a c*cksucker, because there is no way this kind of damage happened in shipping. Im pondering if i should PM him and ***** or not.

Man thats fvcked up, I would try and contact the seller about it by the looks of things.

So you've never successfully powered on the amp while you've had it?

I have, for about 30 seconds.

I turned my truck on, and the lights on the amp lit up.

I turned the truck off to run upstairs and burn test tone CD's.

I come back downstairs and start my truck, and the lights came on, but it was smoking, and thats when i took it out and sent it in.

The repair guy said that the damage was most likely due to feeding it low voltage (no way that could have been me) or extreme vibration damage (again, couldnt be me).

The only exception i could think of is the shipper sent it poorly packaged (it arrived w/ 3 of the four mounting tabs bent), and something could have jarred.

either way, i recieved a junkup amp, which is f*cked up.

I did business for this amp almost a year ago (its been sitting on a shelf in m y closet), so im just gonna get the bastard fixed and eat the costs i guess. I PM'd the person i bought it from.

thats ****ed up
you better send make the seller pay for that shit

or ask for a refund, thats some bullshit
I'll keep everyone updated, but im not going to jump to any hasty conclusions yet. I sent the guy a PM about the situation, and i want ot see what his response is first. Maybe ill try to get him to help pay for the repairs, but either way, im getting the amp fixed, and using it.

Would be nice if he would help pay for the repairs.
