Project: MONTE Meyham

Wire is already ran... Its 16 inches from bottom of amp on the rear deck to the trunk floor... .. Will the Aero's really work better than a standard Slot vent? Whats wrong with raptor? I know is a lil small but not a huge difference between it and the Knu KLM my homie ordered.. plus I have like 50ft of it as well as 40ft of the "4ga" and all sorts of ring terms and stuff that came with it
I just don't like it at all. I just se too many shops charging full price for small gauge wire with lots of insulation. The 4-gauge is actually closer to 8 and the 1/0 they sell is small enough to fit in my amp's 4-gauge terminals.

But I'm sure it's not enough to worry about since it's already been run.

I have enough for a 2nd run, if needed...
So far we got Sub up and port sideways....

any other reccomendations.. I'd really like to hear from thers with 145+DB trunk cars
All the people that I know who are doing 145+ from a trunk have the woofer firing forward and the port either firing forward or firing to the side.

You'll be a new experiment since you cant fit the woofer forward. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, design is something that you would have to work on.
I'm not entirely too familiar with 18's myself, I've worked with 10's, 12's, and 15's strictly.

I know the 18" will like a larger box, probably around 5 cubes or so, and I would do aeroports for ease of tuning and tweaking, and for efficient airflow. An 18" would probably require 4-5 4" aeroports. 4 should suffice.

Sideways firing ports have worked VERY well in all the trunk cars that i've built competitive setups for.
gonna have to agree with tommy here. i had 2 tc9 10s in the trunk of my 96 monte carlo. first subs up port back, then i tried subs up port to the right with box shoved to the left. just by ear it SOUNDED like a 1-1.5db gain, never metered though. i almost shit myself lol

naturally i dont want it 34in tall, but thats measurements of the box I want standing on its side.. and if i was to move the port from the "top" to the 14" side all the tuning would stay the same bc its the same box volume and port deminsions right.. so I could run one LONG and skinny slot port to maintain as muc internal volume as possible..

any opinions on this thought? I am in serios discussion with my box builder ATM, and we almost have it decided
