Okay, well My next setup is coming VERY soon.. and I have a goal of 140dbs daily..

All the local comps measure class by sub inches so its 0-20 21-29 30-up.. and i wanna rule the 0-20 class with 1 Audioque HDC3 18" on at least 2k watts.. any tips?

My setup

HU: Jensen 9312

EQ: Autotek 7band w/ 7 volt output

Wire: Raptor 0/1 with big 3 complete

Batt: Optima Yellow (Starter)

Mids/Highs: PG Octane R 6.5 comps

The good stuff )plan

Sub: AQ HDC3 18"

Amp: Memphis mc2000d or Massive P3000.1

Box: 5+ cuft at 40Hz

Alt: Iraggi 200amp

The plan is fire subs up port towards taillights.. My rear seats fold down, and stay down most of the time.. Should i port into the car? Im looking for at least 140 with hopes of 145db... anything u would add or change? This is all going in a 03 Monte SS

Sub firing into the cabin, port side firing (towards the drivers side)

If you can't fit the sub firing forward, then fire it up towards the rear deck and take out the back speakers.

It wont fit in firing into cabin.. that max height is 16" .. so fire it up towards deck and still fire port sideways? ..

from Xplicitacts.. it alone made a 100% improvement in my setup... without it my system sounded disgusting... prolly coulda put that $$ and HU money together and got a great HU, but the combo does great.. never get a Jensen Hu for sound..its pitiful without amps and voltage booster

Why sideways? if i may ask.. I know u know what ur talking about (look at ur #'s) next I will need a design.. you could help if u wanted to.. I know u have "secrets" but whats the odds of us competing against each other? Slim chance since i will NEVER leave TN to blast my system

Well, design is something that you would have to work on.

I'm not entirely too familiar with 18's myself, I've worked with 10's, 12's, and 15's strictly.

I know the 18" will like a larger box, probably around 5 cubes or so, and I would do aeroports for ease of tuning and tweaking, and for efficient airflow. An 18" would probably require 4-5 4" aeroports. 4 should suffice.

Sideways firing ports have worked VERY well in all the trunk cars that i've built competitive setups for.

Im not familliar with using aeroports and tuning.. I was shooting for at least 5 cuft.. I guess my enclosure designer will know what he's doing with the aero's.. Thanks tons for the help

You may want to get a different brand 1/0 than Raptor, in case you haven't run everything already.

how the hell do u only ahve 16 inches firing in to the cabin, i have 19 inches and im in an 02 monte ss only thing i would have to do is take my 6x9s out and take the amp off my back dash. btw 140 will be easy i did a 138.8 in a 5 cube box at 30 hrtz with a dd9515 and 1 hifonics bxi1206d im trying to reach a 145 also and that is with my sub and port firing back towards my headlights with my back seats down

you could always do a wedge style box with the sub firing into the cabin and seal it off.

Wire is already ran... Its 16 inches from bottom of amp on the rear deck to the trunk floor... .. Will the Aero's really work better than a standard Slot vent? Whats wrong with raptor? I know is a lil small but not a huge difference between it and the Knu KLM my homie ordered.. plus I have like 50ft of it as well as 40ft of the "4ga" and all sorts of ring terms and stuff that came with it

wouldnt be much wedge.. I can only angle it so much before it hits the bottom of the box
