i just read the other thread about burning dvds but dvd shrink and alcohol can only create images out of discs in the drive. does anyone know of a program that can turn files already on my computer into iso files?

Good question. I haven't had to try that yet, but I think you may be able to do it with WinRAR

ya i got alcohol and dvd shrink but im pretty sure you cant turn files on your harddrive in to iso's with them

I don't know that I've seen a program that would make a CD image file out of individual files, but it makes sense that it would be a good thing to have, so somebody's gotta' have something for that.

well i think i could get an avi to mpeg2 comverter and burn a data disc with nero but i dont know of any free converting programs

nero can create ISO files as well as nrg files. All you need to do is select the "Image recorder" as your destination drive.

well i already downloaded winavi and am in the process of making a dvd but if it doesnt work ill try one of the others. and my nero is called nero startsmart, it doesnt have that feature i dont think.

get dvddecryptor, search for it, you can make a iso straight from the dvd so you dont have to convert twice or anything...

Edit, it will aslo ripp those dvds that wont rip with dvdshrink cause of the new kind of copy protection.

CD/DVD burning programs make iso images. It sounds like you need two things done? make video files DVD format and then make that an ISO?
