Profile or Power Accousitc Amp or Ample Audio

Power Acoustik, tapout. One of their "Plasma Sphere"-series amps.

First off we need to teach you a rather valuable bit of information that all aftermarket car audio enthusiasts should comprehend well ~

Wattage ratings given as Peak output or Max output are completely meaningless figures. You will in no way ever reach that level of output in real-world usage and consequently those values are good for nothing more than marketing purposes.

Example - how many times have you heard someone proudly bragging about the Sony Xplod "1000" watt amp they just got installed at Best Buy or Circuit City driving whatever sub or subs that they have it attached to? The main reason that they think they've got an amp that makes 1kW is the 1000 WATTS MAX OUTPUT sticker that Sony cleverly stuck across the topside of the amp's chassis. In real world use those amps might make 300-400 watts of usable energy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

What are you needing to power with the amp that ends up being your choice?

Right now I am pushing 2 10 ma audio ma100xe in a slotted 3 cube box tuned at 32 hrtz with the Ample Audio Exonic 450.

This is the amp in question Power Acoustik LT980/2 2 Channel Amplifier

So you are saying I will not see any difference between the oither amps and my Ample Audio?

Thanks

No - I was saying you should completely disregard amp ratings given as Max or Peak values. They're meaningless numbers excepting to the folks in marketing departments.

What you should pay attention to are the RMS output ratings. Those are a much more accurate guage to use in determining if the output of X, Y, or Z amp is going to be suitable for your purposes/needs.

So!

Having said that - you have a pair of MA Audio 10s rated for 300w RMS each. From the information I have found they are Dual 4 Ohm voicecoil drivers. Is that info correct?

Going by that information your amp needs are going to be either a monoblock that makes 600w at either 1 Ohm or 4 Ohms or a 2-channel that makes 300w per channel @ 2 Ohms.

So - let's look at your choices:

Ample Audio Exonic 450:

150w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo

225w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo

450w X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged

Power Acoustik LT980-2:

220w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo

280w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo

560w X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged

Profile AP1000:

160w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo

240w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo

480 X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged

Looks like the best option out of those listed for your needs will be the Power Acoustik unit...
