Which would these 2 would you get? I'm not really sure on what sub to run it with (maybe a cvx). Both items are about $170-180 shipped new.

Factory Specs:

Kenwood: 900 @ 2

Profile: 960 @ 2

Any other amp recommendation that's less than $200 shipped and around the same amount of power or maybe even more:) would be very appreciated.

Thank you.

Similar power ratings RMS.... similar price

The profiles can be abused and keep running... very reliable.

And previously owning the ap2000... they handle 2 ohms stereo and 4 ohms bridged if I remember correctly

The kenwood is WAY smaller... the profile is fn huge!

The kenwood is also a mono..

Go with the kenwood if space is an issue.... fo sho.. but dont sleep on the profiles reliability....

pawn man: any reasons why you would choose kenwood?

n2audio: Ya, if i get the profile, I'll run it at 960@4. I won't even think about putting it on 2ohms.

ProjectPechkin: Have you had experience with profile before? What makes you think they're reliable. That'll be great if it is. Do you know any other amps that are about the same power/costs as these 2?

Saint211: Space won't b a big issue. I drive a camry, so the trunk has some room. Have you heard bad things about the profile?

Everyone: Thanks for all the replies.

Buddy of mine had a Profile AP1000M, ran it daily at 1-ohm for several months and it never quit. I've also known people who've had that Kenwood amp and have had nothing but problems with with.

I'd personally go with the Profile. They are proven amps.

I ran that Profile AP2000 for about 6 months, but it was used as a 2 channel at 4ohm on a pair of Infinity 12" subs. Worked great for the time I had it and never gave me the slightest bit of an issue, would barely got warm either. As others say though, thing is HUGE lol.

One more vote for the Profile

I have heard that they are reliable on the internet, plus experienced it myself. To be honest I've never even heard of a blown profile.

Of course I dont connect my gear wrong or anything like that, but I did pound the shit out of it for like 3 years for a few hours a day.. whether it was -10 or 100 out.

Just know they are rated peak, which you do... but so are the kenwoods.

I know someone with the next model up of those kenwoods and he wasnt really hapy with it.

If you got the space the profile wont let you down.. long as yah know it wont really do 2000 watts
