good yes! "louder than the type r?" yes 500Wrms or less (per sub) thay will be louder but

like 700/1000Wrms per sub the type r will be louder

im thinking some thing aroud these audioque 2.5 and even the hdc3 is 250 depending on where you get the r's no to much more.
