Vas(liters) 138.09

vas(cu ft.) 4.87

Im refraining from giving the brand name because I've found that there is some prejudice among certan brands. Im looking for unbiased opinions.

the specs look good, but if you going to be putting stupid amounts of power to it and using it for SPL, get something with a 3" voice coil. SPL is all box dependant. it really matters how nasty you want to get, of course it will always be a compromise between SPL and decent sound.

Thanks I appreciate it. You may have saved me 300$ Am I correct assuming the bigger the box the better. What's a good tuning freq? The manufacturer reccomends 3 cu ft. 4 x10 ports tuned to 36hz. If the rms is 1200 per sub would 1800 for the pair be okay?

Specs *sound* good. I'm a bit leary of a "phat" 2 inch surround, that seems kinda big. Still .... assuming the specs are accurate, and not overrated, it sounds like it should do ok. If its cheap enough, by one and test it out. If it sucks, sell it up on ebay! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

True, either brand isn't the best you can get for the money spent. I haven't had any chance to hear the past models for about 2-3 years, so I can't say much. The models they had 4+ years ago were terrible, and slightly over rated. I put 500WRMS to a sub that CLAIMED 600+ WRMS (Can't remember what exactly the specs were), but it was brand new, amp was not clipping, and it failed before I got done with breaking it in. I have never bought from them again, for subwoofers, but the component lines they have are pretty fair for the money, and the amp are DECENT.

That's definately the "SPL" brand's highest end sub, I remember the "PHAT surround" part from their website. The problem with going with a brand such as this is that their measurements more than likely will not match up to what they have posted.

the prejudice of certain brands is only to save people from buying something that they will not get there money worth. There are plenty of lower end models that would be great for what your looking for

Id love a suggestion. The MAW-15 is a great price and it sells on ssa. Im guessing maybe they would be a better choice but do they get loud? Also the only hold like 500rms. How loud can it possibly be?
