processing power? best SQ headunit

and it will offer greater flexiblity than a P9
I fail to see how ANY processor offers more flexibility than the P9.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

There may be better sounding units out there but I don't see how you can get any more flexible than the P9.

Then you should look into what a H701 can do in terms of flexibility. Its more flexible period.

I didnt comment on it being better sounding than a P9 either.

Thadman, I'm the guy with the P1R for sale. I have it on ebay for 300 shipped, but I have it listed on ECA for 275 shipped. Also with 6 month warranty.

I added more pics on page 3. I have plenty of references and I guarentee no DOA or your money back.

It'll control a fully active 3 way setup and sound great doing it, while staying under your budget.

I will say it does more seeing how it has DD and DTS decoders but as far as pure 2 channel audio is concerned it doesn't do any more than the P9 does. Phase, time alignment, crossover, slopes, EQ and presets are all things that the P9 offers for audio adjustment. For an all out A/V system with video and surround I would say the H701 is the absolute bomb though.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Is there anything the P9 does that the H701 doesn't?

I would have to say probably not. The P9 is just of better quality is all. Its for 2 channel audio and thats all.

Not to mention the connection between the DEX-P9 and the DEQ-P9 is optical digital and the Alpine is either RCA or Ai-Net and if I'm not mistaken the Ai-Net connection is analog.

You can do optical to the H701...
How exactly is it better quality?

How can you do optical?? Is the Ai-Net connection optical?? Other than that it only has RCA inputs. Atleast that is what the Alpine website is claiming.

As far as quality is concerned: If you keep a signal digital all the way through the chain until you send it to the amps it will be of better quality. As opposed if a signal is digital then converted to analog and then sent to a processor where it is converted back to digital for the processor which is then after processing it is once more converted back to analog you will have some signal degradation.
