true that is one reason, but if they would elect a few mods to just take care of the classifieds then things with straighten up

a huge problem here is not being able to IP ban, the scammer can just keep coming back under different names

also if there was a 100 post minimum(decent posts, not crap to get to 100) to even see the classified section it would keep people from signing up just to sell something and possibly scam

the classies should be a privledge of devoted members not a dumping ground for fly bys

ive never been scammed on here, and id say ive done quite a bit of deals. I research the crap outta the person and turn down good deals though, a trait not many people seem to have. Few posts, no refs, low prices and wont ship first? Im not gonna buy then.
Ive been lucky enough to have had all excellent transactions on here, and will continue to do so hopefully. I always google the name and screen name, as well as search on here.

x2, it's key to not jump on something without researching it first. there are always other buyers

It's easier to flush them out without an ip ban. Mods can search their ip's and see if they have new user accounts. If they are ip banned, they'll come back with a new ip and you'll never know.

There is a sticky in the classifieds that says to pm a mod if they are unsure to do an ip check. I've asked a mod a few times to do ip checks for me before I bought something.
